TITTLE: First MeetingGENRE: Uhh... Friendship..?
“That’s a nice sketch you got there.”
The female’s voice was enough to leave Alice’s hand stopped
her magic on the sketchbook; Alice blinked her blue eyes in surprised and
looked up at this short hair brunette girl that was brave enough to interact
with Alice- most of the time, her classmates, were never paid attention on her and
simply ignored Alice since she had a silent trait and lack to be conversed
with. But all these times and despite of people’s cold views towards her; Alice
didn’t mind that at all nor affected with that, in fact she loved to be with
her own little world with her beloved sketch book to company her. That was
enough to satisfy her. But this girl in front of Alice made a different than
the others. That was why Alice had a surprised look on her face when this girl
had come up to her and what was more- given a compliment about her drawings. She
was the first to talk with her in her third day of her school.
Being a polite girl, Alice muttered, “Thank you.” And the long
black haired girl continued on her drawing silently with a hope that this
brunette leaved Alice alone like how the others always did to her.
But to her surprise, she spoke with care freeness in her voice, “My name is Beatrice! What’s yours?” Beatrice picked an empty chair from the nearby and sat in front Alice’s desk where laid her sketch book and pencils around it.
“Alice.” She answered simply looking straight into Beatrice’s
amber eyes. Beatrice just kept smiling, “It’s nice meeting of you, Alice. Can I
see you drawings? You really caught my attention you know.”
“I did?” Alice asked in surprised and she gave the sketch book slowly in slight hesitation to the brunette asked for. Beatrice nodded and she received it happily, “Yeah, you got some serious focus there on your drawings! I totally admired of that.” Beatrice rambled on while chuckling. She opened the first page and gasped at what she saw, “Woah! I didn’t know you can even draw the scenery! And a whole detail too! That is so awesome.” Beatrice giggled and turned another page to see more of the beautiful arts drawn by Alice.
Alice felt a warm nudge in her chest so she couldn’t help but
gave a tiny smile, “Thank you. You the first to see my sketchbook.” She said
softly.
Beatrice looked up at her with a surprised at that for a
moment but then it vanished, “You didn’t talk much are you?”
Alice only nodded, “Is there something wrong with that?”
Beatrice shook her head, “Nope, I just thought you’re interesting.” She was grinning ear to ear and it was Alice to surprised, “Me? Interesting?”
Alice always thought of herself as a boring, silent, not very attractive person and many negatives. But interesting? What so interesting of her?
As if reading her thoughts, Beatrice replied, “You’re different than any other people I met, I felt the urge to come up and talk to you. That’s why I thought you an interesting person.” She said smiling at the confuse Alice before continued, “Never mind that! This one looks really beautiful by the way- Ok, maybe beyond beautiful!” Beatrice changed the topic and pointed at the next picture. It was a picture of a sunset with forests around and the colouring was just made it more beautiful that the sketching itself.
“It looks real.” Beatrice awed, “I wish I can be as good as you, Alice. I’m totally bad at colouring mostly at anything.” She giggled. Silent greeted them, only the sounds of the noisy class filled around them. But oddly, Alice felt comfortable with it. She stared at the brunette that can brighten up like a bulb every time she turned the new page with a glee expressed on her face. Alice surpassed a chuckle at the amused sight, “I can teach you, Beatrice. You interested in drawings and arts?”
“Yes! I am- Wait, does that means we’re friends?” Beatrice looked at her with so much of light in her face- the brunette just wished it was a yes to her question. She waited for Alice’s answer.
“Well,” Alice smiled sincerely for the first time, never thought this day would come to her, “Looks like we are already.”
And they both laughed cheerily until a teacher came inside the class signalling the beginning of their study period.
